Hello,
My name is Steve Sexton, I'm interested in visual effects and almost everything to do with 3D. I have recently completed my Bachelor of Creative Arts (Screen Production) after finishing an Advanced Diploma of Screen (CGI Visual Effects). I am reliable and work well in teams but I'm also well organised and capable of working independently. Although I have an interest in 3D I am also very interested in 2D compositing.
All the standard stuff aside I really enjoy 3D and design, almost anything digital interests me in some way or another. I feel I can better express myself with these types medium (I can't play any instruments or write to save myself). I have been told that HTML and 3D can be methodical but I think it's more of a methodical application towards creativity. All up I tend to spend my free time working on something, I feel it has aided me during my studies but also has kept me on my toes.
I started using 3D back in 2000, using 3DS max and I taught myself as much as I could using online tutorials. After I graduated high school in 2004, I started a Certificate 4 in Multimedia. This course basically cover a wide range of media including web, print and some basic 3D. From there I decided I wanted to continue learning 3D, so I started a Diploma in Screen (CGI and Visual effects). In this course I had to change over to Maya, I was able to apply what I had learnt in Max into Maya, giving me an advantage. I then continued with an Advanced Diploma in Screen. Once I had finished my Advanced Diploma I was given the opportunity to get some industry training at Animal Logic, although it was rotoscope training I was still glad to have the experience. While I was at Animal Logic I was able to talk to some professional VFX artists and I decided then that I wanted to further my studies. On my return to Adelaide I applied at Flinders University studying a Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in Screen Studies. During my time at Flinders, I found myself doing freelance VFX work on the side. This brings us to now...
